Pauline Locke

Funeral Service for Pauline Locke, 98, Clinton resident will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, October 16. 2023 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by her family. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.


Gladys Pauline Locke was born August 19, 1925, in Pryor, OK to Razz J. and Goldie Pearl (Lawrence) Charles and passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023, in the St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.


Pauline was raised in Pryor, OK and graduated from high school in 1943. On My 29, 1943, she married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Jerry Locke. Their first home was in Pryor. As a result of World War II, she worked for the Department of Defense for a short time at Oklahoma Ordinance work, a war plant. From this job she went to work at the Mayes County Court House in Pryor assisting veterans in filing their discharge papers.


Following Jerry’s return from the Marine Corps they moved to Wagoner, OK in 1946. Their family increased to three with the births of Larry and Danny while living in Wagoner where Jerry got his start in the insurance business, and they moved to Oklahoma City in 1950 where Sheila Kaye was born.


Mrs. Locke worked in a paly a school and a Montessori school until they moved to Clinton in 1967. She was co-owner of the Jerry Locke Insurance Agency and worked as secretary receptions for her husband until his death on January 4, 1995. Following his death, she and her son Larry continued in the business until she sold in 1996.


She was saved in 1940 and has been active in the Baptist Churches in Wagoner, OK, Oklahoma City and Clinton. Since 1951 she has worked in Sunday School with the pre-school children and Bible School. She was also active in Baptist Training Union, Women’s Missionary Groups where she held various offices and helped with funeral dinners.


She was a member of the Business Professional Women of Clinton and served as President in 1980-1981.


After her retirement she continued to work part time at Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home during visitation. She was a volunteer at the Mission Wear It Again Store in Clinton, Route 66 Museum, the Grace Living Nursing Home with BINGO, Meals on Wheels and the Auxiliary at Integris Clinton Regional Hospital.


She was never one to be idle. When her three children were in school, she was a homeroom mother for each one. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, A Brownie Leader and active in P.T.A. while her children where in Oklaoma City grade schools.


She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, and grandson, Daniel.


She is survived by her son, Jerry Lawrence (Larry) Locke and wife, Mary, Foss, OK, and his children and grandchildren, Heather Lee Ann, Amber Dawn, Mandi Kay, John, Matthew.


Son, Daniel Robert Locke and wife, Judy and his children and grandchildren, Shelly, Gary, Logan, Eathan, Mason and Owen.


Daughter, Sheila Barrick and husband, Brad, and her children and grandchildren, Nicole, Hillery, Caleb, Nyomi, Lola Kae, Kyson, Isaiah, Luke, Jovie, Frankie Faye and Joshua Daniel “JD”.


She is also survived by two brothers, Willaims Chester “Blackie” Charles and Lester “Red” Charles.
