A Celebration of Life Service for Ray Sawatzky, 71, Clinton farmer and rancher will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 2, 2014 in the First Church of God, officiated by Rev. Roy Dobbs. A private burial will be held in the Clinton Cemetery prior to the funeral service under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Ray Pete Sawatzky was born along with his twin brother, Roy on February 21, 1942 to Menno P. and Eva June (Schmidt) Sawatzky in Clinton, Oklahoma and passed away Saturday December 28, 2013 in his rural Clinton home. Ray was raised south of Clinton and graduated from Clinton High school in 1960. Ray started his farming career early in life raised wheat, cotton and cattle. He was married to Janet Horrocks on May 19, 1962 IN Putnam, Oklahoma. They made their home south of Clinton where they continued farming and ranching up to the present time. Ray was a member of the First Church of God, his hobby was his cattle, spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events and activities; he enjoyed spending time with his coffee buddies and catching up on the latest events. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Beulah Gregg and Eldeen Schmidt. He is survived by his wife, Janet of the home, , two daughters, Lavon Overton and husband, Pat, of Weatherford, Casey Cummins and husband, Wade, of Clinton and a son, Bryan Pete Sawatzky and wife, Lisa, of Clinton; two brothers, twin brother Roy C. Sawatzky and wife, Carolyn, of Bessie, OK and Bob Sawatzky and wife, Joyce, of Joes, CO. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Jessica Fleming and husband, Matt, of Roanoke, TX, Colby Overton, of Midwest City, OK, Dillon Overton, Phoenix, AZ, Dustin Overton, of Weatherford, OK, Hope Sawatzky and Wyatt Sawatzky, both of Clinton and Grace Cummins and Tarren Cummins, both of Clinton; two great-grandchildren, Emery Fleming and Beckett Ray Fleming and his four legged companion, Skipper Boy, of the home. The body will be viewed at the funeral home Monday and Tuesday, 8:00 A.M., till 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday, 1:00 till 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 1, 2014.
