Clinton-Funeral services for Raymond Charles Cometsevah, Wo-cha-nes-tos (Whistling Eagle), age 61, will be at 10am on December 30, 2017, at the Clinton Indian Community Hall in Clinton, Oklahoma. The Reverend Gerald Panana will officiate. Viewing will be held before the service from 8am to 10am at the Community Hall. Interment will be at the Clinton Cemetery in Clinton, Oklahoma. Under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home Raymond Cometsevah passed away on December 24, 2017, in Gallup, New Mexico. He was born on August 29, 1956, in Clinton, Oklahoma. Survivors include his children, Amanda Cometsevah, Churchrock, NM, Raelynn Cometsevah, Albuquerque, NM, Arlen Cometsevah, Gallup, NM. Wife, Yolanda Cometsevah, of Ft. Wingate, NM, Mother, Virginia Cometsevah, Sisters include Winona Cometsevah, Dr. Cecelia Cometsevah, Susan Cometsevah, and brother, Michael Cometsevah. Raymond had four grandchildren who reside in Churchrock, NM, and many nieces, nephews and relatives in Oklahoma and New Mexico. He is preceded in death by his father, the late Arthur Cometsevah, Grandparents: Laird and Lucy Cometsevah of Clinton, Oklahoma, and Stewart and Jennie Barton of Gallup, New Mexico. Raymond graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton, Oklahoma in May 1974. Raymond was employed with Ft. Wingate High School from 1980 to May 2017. He enjoyed working with students at Wingate High School, he loved to Gourd Dance, play chess, and play tennis. Raymond's national football team was the Oakland Raiders, favorite NBA was Boston Celtics, and his #1 college football team was the Sooners of Oklahoma. He was certainly a "Boomer Sooner!" Pallbearers include Michael Cometsevah, Louis Cometsevah, Brandon Barber, Stanley Chapman, Melvin Cometsevah, Larry Cometsevah, Brad Cometsevah and Garry Hallford. The Cometsevah Family will receive relatives and friends at the Clinton Indian Community Hall following the service. Kiesau-Lee Funeral homes oversee funeral arrangements.
