Funeral Services for Richard D. Doling, 80, Clinton resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 5, 2014 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Chaplain Dan Day and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Richard Dennis Doling was born March 20, 1934 to Roy and Golda (Spencer) Doling in El Reno, OK and passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in the Grace Living Center in Clinton, OK. Richard was raised as small child in El Reno, OK and at the age of six he was moved to Decatur, AR where he attended his schooling and graduated from high school in 1952. He soon enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served and was honorably discharged. He was married to Elva Wight in 1956 in Centertown, AR. He worked for Standard Register Printing Company and an electric company. In 1959 he began a career as a USDA Inspector with the US Government. He later married Valmai Evans-Schoonmaker on January 8, 1979 in Wheeler, TX.He traveled extensively with his job but settled in Clinton, OK where he retired in 1997. He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother, Francis Doling, a sister, Martha Glenn, granddaughter, Sydney Phillips, and a grandson, Ethan Phillips. He was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Oklahoma City. He enjoyed doing carpentry work, woodworking; he wrote poetry and was involved in the local theatre, he was an avid reader and loved to study bible scripture, he was a bible historian and he had served as assistant chaplain at the Clinton Veteran Center. He is survived by three daughters, Nancy Roper, and husband Mel Wells of Clinton, Kathy Phillips, of Springdale, AR and Barbara Allen and husband, Ray, Farmington, AR; sons, Philip Schoonmaker and wife, Jean, of Pryor, OK and David Schoonmakerof Oklahoma City, OK, brother, John Doling, of Peoria, IL and a sister, Nancy Duryea, Myrna, NE. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and special friends, Jim Rodemeyer and Ann Brown, of Clinton.
