Richard L. Settles November 7, 1936 March, 2019 A Chapel Service for Richard Settles will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 12, 2019 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel officiated by Pastor David Beck and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Richard L. (Leon) Settles, 82 years 3 months 23 days, was born to Richard and Dorothy (Lindsey) Settles on November 7, 1936 in Putman, Oklahoma and passed away March , 2019 in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Leon graduated from Weatherford, High School in 1955, and then enlisted in the U. S. Air Force. Following his 4 years of service, he attended SWSC. Following SWSC, he began working at Tinker Air Force Base. He began a family and had two daughters Sherryl A. Rudder and Melody K. Settles, both of Ridgecrest, California. He also had grandchildren, grandson Josh Stafford and Bradley Patrick, granddaughter Aria Settles, great grandson Joseph and great, great granddaughter, Novelle. Leon loved to hunt and fish. While at China Lake, he loved the desert and digging for gold and owning a gold mine for a period of time. He married his beloved wife Charlotte Hutson Settles at Ridgecrest, Ca. She preceded him in death. Also, preceding him in death was his parents, Richard and Dorothy Settles. Leon is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Sherryl and Will Rudder, daughter Melody K. Settles, great grandchildren, siblings Eldon and Sheryl Settles, Weatherford, Ok, Donald and Sheila Settles, Weatherford, Ok, and Janie and Maynard Book, Tuttle, Ok. He had many nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends. Leon will certainly be missed!
