Robert Cantrell

A Graveside Service for Robert "Bob" Lee Cantrell, 77, Weatherford resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 16, 2014 in the Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford, Officiated by Dr. John Huser and under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton. Family will greet guest 1:00 P.M., till 4:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in the Parlor of the Church of Christ, 1701 Pine, Weatherford, Okla. Robert was born May 5, 1937 to Corbett Austin Cantrell and Lorabell (Ditmore) Cantrell south of Hydro, Oklahoma and passed away on October 13, 2014 in his Weatherford home. He was raised south of Hydro,OK and had lived in the Oklahoma City, Tuttle and Weatherford areas. He had attended school in Oklahoma City and he moved to Weatherford where graduated from High School in 1955. He was married to Jan Schutes on August 28, 1971 at the Mayfair Church of Christ in Oklahoma City by Virgil Trout. Bob worked with his father-in-law, Skeeter Schutes, in the family body shop business for many years. He later worked for the Tautfest doing maintenance and repairs for over 200 apartments but do to failing health he was forced to medically retire in July 2014. He was an outdoorsman and he enjoyed fishing; hunting; repairing old pickups and taking care of his garden and yard. He is survived by his wife, Jan, of the home; two sons, Bryan Kyle Cantrell and his wife, Vickie, of Noble, OK and Dustin David Cantrell and wife, J.J., of Dewey, OK; two daughters, Kelly Denise Bender and her husband, Charles, of Norman and Jana Richelle Crain, and her husband, Warren, of Weatherford; twelve grandchildren: Cory, Kevin, Wesley Cantrell, Jason Pickering, Cody Cantrell, Nathan and Ryleigh Miller, Ellie, Caden, and Jancie Cantrell, Kara and Joe Bob Cantrell. Also two brothers: Raymond Cantrell and his wife, Ann and Bernie Cantrell and his wife, Peggy of Tulsa, Ok; and two sisters, Sue Castleberry and Linda Carman and her husband, Cliff, of Weatherford. He was preceded in death by his parents: Corbett and Lorabell Cantrell, a stepmother, Carol Cantrell and a son, Kerry Lynn Cantrell.
