Funeral Services for Robert “Bob” Marcy, 71, Clinton City Councilman will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in the First United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Roland Youngberg and burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Robert Fred Marcy was born January 9, 1942 to Fred Eugene and Lenore (Thompson) Marcy in Alva, Oklahoma and passed away early Sunday, March 17, 2013 in his home. Bob spent the first nine years of his life in Alva and then moved to Clinton where he graduated from Clinton High School in 1960. He continued his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford and later transferred to Oklahoma University in Norman, OK and graduated with a Business Administration degree. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in January of 1965 and served a four year stint and was honorably discharged as Supply Officer in 1969. He spent a year working in Australia after which he returned to the United States and worked for Ryder Truck in Amarillo, TX as well as in Lubbock, TX. He married Ann Fortson on June 11, 1971 in Corsicana, TX. They continued to live in Lubbock where he worked for JI Case Tractor and then relocated to Minneapolis, MN. He moved back to Clinton in 1981 and joined his father and brothers Keith and Randy in the beer wholesale busiess. He retired in 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a longtime and faithful member of the First United Methodist Church. He has served on many committees in the Community and Church and was presently serving as a City Councilman and serving as Church Treasure. He was involved in numerous civic activities and has served on the Chamber of Commerce, served as president of the Rotary Club, active with friends of the Library, Industrial Foundation and the Clinton Public School Foundation. He was chosen Business man of the year as well as Citizen of the Year. He enjoyed reading, watching movies and enjoyed all kinds of music; he loved spending time with his grandchildren and keeping up with their activities. He is survived by his wife, Ann of the home, a son, Todd Marcy and wife, Emily, OKC, OK and a daughter, Jill Atchley and husband, Brent, Clinton and three brothers, Keith Marcy and wife, Michale, Clinton, Randy Marcy and wife, Kim, Woodward and Lynn Marcy and wife, Lynn, Ringgold, GA. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Bryler and Madison Atchley, Clinton and Caleb and Joshua Marcy, OKC, OK, Uncle Jim Thompson, Dallas, TX and Aunt Maureen Marcy, Topeka, KS.
