Robert Ross Standingwater

Funeral Services for Robert Ross Standingwater, age 54, an Edmond resident, formerly of Butler, OK, will be held at 5:00 PM, Thursday, October 26, 2023, at St. Luke’s Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Josh Attaway.

Burial will follow at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 28, 2023, in the Hammon Indian Mennonite Cemetery, under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

Robert Ross Standingwater was born January 7, 1969, to Robert Joe Standingwater and Marcia (Mierau) Standingwater in Clinton, OK and passed away early Tuesday, October 24, 2023, in the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City, OK. Robert fought the good fight with cancer. He was present for his family through it all and lived life to the fullest!

Robert was raised in Butler, OK where he graduated from Butler High School in 1987. While in high school, he was active playing basketball, baseball, and in Future Farmers of America. He continued his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK, and achieved a degree in Engineering Technology in 1994. While attending college, he was employed with Southwest Distributing as well as working as an Emergency Medical Technician for Sinor Ambulance.

He married Mary Jenae Ford on September 2, 1995, in Clinton, OK, and after college they made their home in Plano, TX, and he worked for Air Systems Components. They moved to Edmond, OK in 2006. He has been employed with the Indian Health Services as a mechanical engineer for many years.

His favorite thing in life was being the father, coach and mentor to his three boys, Ryan, Ross and Rhett. He spent countless hours making sure his sons were involved in sports, school activities and furthering their education.

He was a member of the St. Luke’s Methodist Church, he was a golfer, he enjoyed cooking, dirt bikes,

NASCAR, snow skiing, vacationing with his family, and spending time with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Bob Standingwater.

He is survived by his wife, Jenae Standingwater, a 5th Grade Teacher for Edmond Public Schools, and three sons, Ryan Standingwater, a law student at OCU, and (twins) Ross Standingwater and Rhett Standingwater, students at OSU. He is also survived by his mother, Marcia Standingwater, two sisters, Judy Perkins, Colleen Standingwater-Haunpo and husband, Les, and two brothers Russ Standingwater and wife, Robin, and Randy Standingwater. He is also survived by nieces, Emery, Laurie, Hailey, Mackie, and Jacqueline, and nephew, Austin. Robert has always been “the” favorite uncle!
