Funeral Services for Robert L. Short, 66, Weatherford resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 9, 2020 in the First Baptist Church in Weatherford, OK, officiated by Rev. Earl Stephenson. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Robert Laurence Short was born July 17, 1953 to Laurence Oliver Short and June (Timmons) Short in Frederick, Oklahoma and passed away Friday March 6, 2020 in the St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Robert was raised in Anadarko, Oklahoma and graduated from Anadarko High School in 1971. He was married to Rhonda Skinner in 1972 in Ada, Oklahoma. He attended Spartan Aviation School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He worked on Airplanes while living in Tulsa. He later moved to Western Oklahoma and worked in the oilfields as a tool pusher. He also worked in Oklahoma City as a flight instructor and was an Agriculture pilot in Carnegie, OK. He worked for Metro Airlines in Lawton and later American Eagle Airline. In 2003 he moved to Dallas, TX and worked for American Airlines as a Mechanical Inspector. He retired in 2013 and moved back to Weatherford, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents and his great grandson, Eastyn. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Weatherford; he loved spending time with his grandchildren; building hot rods with his son; gliding and sky diving. He is survived by his daughter, Randi Elliott and husband, Cody, Marlow, OK and son, Eric Short and wife, Jennifer, Weatherford, OK; two sisters, Susan Hefley and husband, Bob, Blanchard, OK, Elizabeth Monroe and husband, Johnny, Norman, OK; brother, Richard Short and wife, Thela, Cyril, OK. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Mykel Short, Lundyn Malone, Clay Short, Jordyn Taylor, Jayde Taylor, Wessyn Short, Cade Elliott and Evyn Elliott.
