Roberta Jean Atchley

Funeral Services for Roberta Atchley, 65, Clinton resident will be held 2:00 Saturday, February 1, 2014 in the United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Charles Murphy and Rev. Eugene Thieszen. Burial will conclude in the Parkersburg Cemetery under the direction for the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Roberta Jean (Shockey) Atchley was born June 22, 1948 to Leon A. Shockey and Carmel A. (Crowder) Shockey in Sayre, Oklahoma and she passed away early Thursday, January 30, 2014 in the Integris Clinton Regional Hospital in Clinton. Mrs. Atchley was raised in Carter, Oklahoma and graduated from Carter high School in 1966. She was married to David L. Atchley on May 14, 1966 in Carter. They made their home in Clinton where she was employed with Clinton Public Schools and served as secretary at Washington Elementary. She also worked for Dr. Bob Thompson and for the past 15 years she worked for Atwoods, retiring in June of 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson, Brice Atchley. She loved to garden; she was a great cook and she enjoyed basketball which she played in high school; and she enjoyed watching her grandchildren's sports. She is survived by her husband, David, of the home, three sons, Bryan Atchley and wife, Kathy, Brent and wife, Jill and Brandon and girlfriend, Amber, all of Clinton; two brothers Steve Shockey, Lois, of Oklahoma City and Jack Shockey and wife, of Leedey. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Brantley Atchley, BrylerAtchley, Madison Atchley, and Brooklynn Athchley.
