She was born on March 22nd, 1933 in Eagle City, Ok, the daughter of Alma (Thompson) and Robert (Bob) Price. Rowena lived in Eagle City until the age of 12 when her family purchased a farm NW of Butler, Ok. Rowena inherited Alma's love of horses and reigned as the first Queen of the Butler Roundup Club. She married Leo Lester Jones on November 1st, 1956 in Jefferson City, MO. They later settled in Butler, OK where Leo worked as a welder and he and Rowena built and operated the Butler Dairy Boy. Some years later Rowena and her mother, Alma, owned and operated the Butler Grocery. Rowena and Leo relocated Leo's welding shop to Clinton, OK in 1977, and where Rowena managed Braum's, worked at the Granada Inn, and later served as a job coach at New Horizons. Rowena's love of flowers and gardening was rivaled only by her love of people. She was never one to meet a stranger and happily engaged everyone, both young and old, in conversation. Rowena was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, and parents, Bob and Alma Price. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Oreta Fay (Price) Mitchell; her brother, Robert James (R.J.) Price, Jr.; and her brother-in-law, Keith Mitchell. Survivors include her son, Mike Jones and his wife Lynne, of Boulder Colorado; her daughter, Sherri Jones, of Katy, TX; granddaughter, Angela Jones, of Charleston, SC; and grandson, Dane Jones, of Miami, Florida; her sister, Oleta May (Price) Glenn and her husband, Wendyl, of Sherman, TX; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Price, of Coffeyville, KS; her dear friend, Laura McKinsey, of Clinton, OK; and her faithful feline companion, Snoop, who watched over her until the very end. Rowena both loved, and was beloved by, a host of nieces and nephews residing in Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, Missouri, and Kansas with whom she enjoyed many years of laughter, singing, dancing, and pure silliness.
