Roy Don New

A Memorial Service is pending for Roy Don New, 53, Clinton resident, under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

Roy Don New was born with a disability on September 20, 1969, in Ponca City, OK and passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023, in the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. When he was three days old, he was placed in the arms of is adopted parents Richard and Carol (Ross) New.

Roy was raised in Sayre, OK where he attended school. His mother later married Richard Evans and he lived with them making homes with them in Sayre, OK, Foss Lake Estates and Carnegie, OK. In the 1980’s his parents purchased a home for him in Clinton, OK where he lived until his death.

In 2006, he met Alta McGinnis, and they soon became companions and lived together for 16 happy years.

Roy enjoyed riding four wheelers and riding on the river, he liked working on cars, watching television and playing video games.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandmother, Nola Ross, Uncle Glenn Ross.

He is survived by his companion Alta McGinnis, of the home, sister, Nicole New, Sayre, OK, nieces, Myriah Davis and Aubree Hooper, nephew Bill Hooper, two uncles, Jerry New and Don New.

He is also survived by many good friends including, Marty Schenewolf and Melissa Bowen, of Butler, OK and many other bonus nieces and nephews.
