Roy Edward Morrison

Funeral Services for Roy E. Morrison, 93, Clinton resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, September 28, 2018 in the Church of Christ officiated by Patrick Peters and Ryan Driskill. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Roy E. Morrison was born April 5, 1925 to Grover B. Morrison and Beulah Verna (Linn) Morrison in Dill City, Oklahoma and passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 in the Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. Roy was raised in Dill City and Clinton and attended most of his schooling in Clinton. In 1943 and during his senior year he was drafted in the U.S. Army. He served during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946. He returned to Clinton and he married Billie Jo Robbins on February 3, 1947 in Arapaho, OK. He was employed with Morrison Oil Company before starting a career with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, where he retired after 20 years. He was a longtime and faithful member of the Church of Christ; he also served as a deacon for several years; he enjoyed doing gardening and sharing it with others; he enjoyed fishing and playing cards. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, G.B. Morrison, Jr., Gerald T. Morrison, Russell Leon Morrison and a sister, Melba Ingram and nephew Jerry Morrison. He is survived by his wife, Billie Jo Morrison, of the home, daughter, Carol McCathern and husband, Scott, Anadarko, OK; son, Mike Morison and wife, Judy, Spring, TX; sister, Wilda Ray Hankins and husband, Jim, Pottsboro, TX. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Brandon Morrison, San Antonio, TX, Matthew Morrison, Houston, TX, Sarah Palmer, Lawton, OK and Cayla McCathern, Clinton and three great-grandchildren, Lilly Morrison, Lexi Morrison and Dakota Palmer.
