Sheila Renea Barrick

Funeral Services for Sheila Barrick, 78, Arapaho resident, will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, December 27, 2022, in the Clinton Cornerstone Church, officiated by Brother Jerrod Nunn. Burial will follow in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.


Sheila Renea (Graybill) Barrick was born February 5, 1944, to Otha and Reta (Weir) Graybill in Camargo, OK and passed away Tuesday December 20, 2022, at the Baptist Village in Elk City, OK.


Sheila was raised in Leedey, OK where she graduated from Leedey High School in 1962. She continued her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK and received her Bachelors in Elementary Education. She later went on to receive her master’s degree.


She married Don Ray McClure on August 1, 1964, in Weatherford, OK. She moved to Arizona along with her husband and they taught school on the Navajo Reservation in Shonto from 1965 to 1968. They moved to Anadarko, OK where she taught first grade. Mr. McClure passed away in 1970 and she moved to Elk City, OK. She married William “Bill” Barrick on June 10, 1972, in Leedey and they made Arapaho, OK their home where she taught until her retirement in 2003.


She was an active member of the Clinton’s First Church of God (now Cornerstone). She was an accomplished artist and participated in numerous art shows and galleries. She also taught art to many students until recent years. She loved nature and had a special love for hummingbirds. She enjoyed square dancing and traveling with Bill. But more than anything she loved Jesus and she’s with Him in heaven now.


She was preceded in death by her parents, and both husbands.


She is survived by three sons, Brad Barrick and wife, Sheila, Woodward, OK, Gregory McClure and wife, Amy Jo, Dacoma, OK and Brian Barrick and wife, Amy, Fletcher, OK, sisters, LaTricia Harrel and husband, Frank, Leedey, OK and Twylia Keck and husband, Rod, Fairview, OK, brothers, Allen Graybill, El Reno, OK, George Graybill and wife, Laura, Granbury, TX, and Eddie Graybill, Buffalo, OK.


She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Nicole, Hillery, Caleb and wife Amber, Taelor and husband Taylor, Brieanna and husband Candrick, Gracelyn, William, Kala and husband Abraham, Hannah and 12 great-grandchildren, Nyomi, Lola, Kyson, Isaiah, Luke, Jovie, Joshua, Frankie, Blaklei, Brody, Joseph, Abigail, and one on the way, baby Briar Gentry.
