Shirley Burton

A Chapel Service for Shirley Burton, 88, Stafford resident will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014 in the Chapel of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home , officiated by Buck Nicholson. Burial will follow in the Stafford Cemetery, Stafford, Ok under the direction of the Stanley Lee Funeral Home, Clinton. Shirley Elizabeth (Babcock) Burton was born August 26, 1926 in South Lion, Michigan to Myron Edwin and Violet (Ellison) Babcock and passed away Friday, November 7. 2014 in Grace Living enter in Clinton, Ok. She was raised and attended school and college in the Montrose, Colorado area. She was employed as a telephone operator with the Harrah's Casino, State Line Nevada. While in Nevada, she married Ernest Burton on April 26, 1994. She had many interests such as crossword puzzles, reading, watching TV and traveling. Survivors include her husband, Ernest Burton, of their home: two sons: Dale Stocks of California and Dane Stocks of Germany; four sisters: Lois Dobbins of TX, Ginger Helmick of Kennewick, WA and Marion Sanders of Tulsa and Mickey Hatch of Alathea, CO; one brother: Phil Babcock of MI. She is survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Violet Babcock; her first husband, Roy Stocks and two sons: Dan and Darrell Stocks.
