Sue Ella Cecil

Sue Ella Cecil (nee McCoy), age 60, of Oklahoma City, beloved daughter, sister, mother, friend and neighbor, passed away March 8th in her home. She was born August 27th, 1954 in Clinton, Oklahoma to the late Edward Herrin "Jack" and Mary Eugenia McCoy. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1972 and attended the University of Oklahoma. She worked as a surgical technician at Clinton Regional Hospital and later obtained her BSN in Nursing from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She married and lived in Clinton, then relocated to Oklahoma City to help care for her mother. Stella's was a life of joy in the face of challenges and of celebration of family. She enjoyed music and arts and deeply loved her children and her many close relatives. She was an accomplished pianist who loved classical music, hymns and popular music and played at various churches including St. Paul's Episcopal Church and Chapel Hill United Methodist Church - and wherever she found a piano or organ. She is survived by her daughter Sarah Elizabeth Pope of Concord, New Hampshire and son Michael Alden Cecil of Elk City, Oklahoma, grandchildren Ellie, Abigail, Emma, Henry and Anna Pope of Concord, New Hampshire and her sisters Mary Hohmann and Jane Good. She was preceded in death by her father Edward (Jack) McCoy, mother Mary Gene McCoy (nee Mahone) and her sister Nancy England. Sue Ella will be missed by so many whose lives she touched. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday March 22 in the Community Center of Stell's former home at Berrywood Terrace Apartments, 4301 Bryant Avenue in Oklahoma City.
