Susan Lovell

January 28, 1953 — November 18, 2021

Susan Elaine Lovell January 28, 1953—November 18, 2021 Susan was born in Elk City, Oklahoma, to Emily Ailene Patterson and Olen Ira Lovell. When she was a young girl, her family moved to Downey, California, where she graduated from Downy High School in 1971. She attended Cerritos Community College in Norwalk, California, graduating with a business associate degree. Susan enjoyed her career as an administrative assistant in California and later in Wicken-burg, Arizona. California jobs included Rockwell International and an optical company. In the early 1990s, she moved to Wickenburg where her mother lived. Here she worked at McCarthy Integrated Systems, Gatehouse Academy, Woody’s Enterprises and Desert Caballeros Western Museum. Recently, she began work in the office of First Presbyterian Church. Susan leaves many friends behind, who will always miss her unconditional friendship and loving presence. She was outgoing, non-judgmental, young at heart, a steadfast friend and care-giver. Most of her friends say that she was their best friend, always there to comfort in times of trouble and to bring joy into their lives. Keeping in touch with friends was important to her, in-cluding elementary and high school friends from California. Pets were a big part of her life, especially her dog Spike and many cats that she would rescue. Susan loved a good joke, movies, science-fiction, reading, gardening, beading, flashy jewelry and feeding wildlife. The birds were plump from the abundant food in her yard feeders. As a teenager, she worked in a chicken hatchery, which developed into her love of all things re-lated to birds, as seen in her large decorative egg collection and other memorabilia. Flowers were usually blooming in her yard and she often brought flowers and gifts to her friends. Susan was preceded in death by her parents and her cousin and life-long best friend Darla Williams of Glendale, Arizona. She is survived by cousin Charlie Patterson of Blythe, California, several cousins in Oklahoma and many close friends, including Chris Garcia. In accordance with her wishes, she will be buried beside her mother in Stafford Ceme-tery, Custer County, Oklahoma. A celebration of life is being planned by her Wickenburg friends for the near future.
