Funeral Services for retired MSgt Terry L. Kernop, 67, United States Air Force, will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 10, 2018 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel officiated by Brother Joshua Holm. Burial will follow in the Parkersburg Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Terry Lee Kernop was born September 5, 1950 to Willard A. Kernop and Mary Scarborough Kernop in Fort Benning, Georgia and passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 in the Anadarko Hospital in Anadarko, OK. Mr. Kernop was raised in Montgomery, Alabama and attended Holtville High School in Elmore, Alabama. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1968, serving terms in Viet Nam where he was the supply Clerk. He was married to Rebecca Garcia on January 31, 1970 while stationed Beale Air Force Base, CA. He retired from the Air Force in Altus, OK. He and his wife owned and operated the Monkey Business, which was a gift shop. He worked for the Boeing Air craft in Rhiard, Saudi Arabia in 1990 doing Logistics. He moved to the Weatherford area in the mid 1990's; attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and received his bachelors in science degree. He spent time in Plano, TX to teach school. He moved to Clinton in 2001 and he became a substitute teacher in Weatherford and Clinton Schools. He was a volunteer for the Indian Education Program; he enjoyed spending time of the computer; he loved music and could play most string instruments. He was in a local band called the "Cold Creek Band" where he played and sang; his band was known for their blue grass and country music but they could play about anything. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Johnny and Jimmy. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca, of the home, daughter, Melanie Perkins and husband, Tommy, Noble, OK and a son, Cory Kernop, OKC, OK; two sisters, Judy Etheridge, of Georgia and Many Van Horn, of Alabama. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
