Thelma Pherigo Young

Thelma Pherigo-Young was born December 18, 1920 to John Osburn and Jerusha (Hobbs) Osburn in Muskogee, OK and passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 in the Grace Living Center in Clinton, Oklahoma. No services planned at this time and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Thelma was raised in Muskogee, Oklahoma where she graduated from Muskogee High School in 1940. She worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She also operated the Corral Drive Inn in Muskogee for awhile during the 1960s. She married Odus Pherigo in 1948 in Muskogee, OK and later married Herman Young in 1964 in Bixby, Oklahoma. They moved to California in 1967 and he preceded her in death in 1969. She returned back to Muskogee and worked for the Muskogee Hospital until retirement. She moved to Clinton, OK to be close to her daughter in 1992. She is a member of the Church of Christ and she enjoyed reading. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Ray Osburn, and four sisters, Josephine Epps, Kathleen Aust, Jeanie Thompson and Ann Stewart. She is survived by a daughter, Jane Ewy, of Clinton, OK.
