Tim Alan Ray was born on January 2, 1954 in Thomas, OK to Luey and Orpha Ray. He passed away in his Sand Springs residence and was called eternally home on March 15, 2017. Tim grew up in Butler and moved to Weatherford in 5th grade eventually graduating from Weatherford High School in 1972. In high school Tim enjoyed playing football and was a state placer on the wrestling team. After graduation Tim worked in the oil field for several years and eventually had a long stint as a driver for Hamm & Phillips in Weatherford. In 2015, Tim and his wife Tricia moved to Sand Springs, OK to be closer to their grandchildren. Tim was married to his high school sweetheart for 44 years. Together, they enjoyed spending time with their family and traveling. Tim was an avid golfer and sports lover and preferred to spend his time in the outdoors. He will be best remembered by family as a soft spoken leader who was a model of consistency and support for those he loved. His children would often say that Tim would be comparable to a character in an old western movie who only had a few lines but would be your favorite character. After moving to Sand Springs, Tim finished his career by working at Lazer Spot in Bixby, OK. Tim is survived by his wife Tricia Ray of Sand Springs, OK, daughter Destiny Mozingo and husband, Jim, of Lawton, OK, and son, Timothy Ray and wife, Rachel, of Sand Springs, OK; five brothers, Jack Ray and wife Frances of Butler, OK, Bill Ray and wife Linda of Custer City, OK, Johnny Ray and wife Karen of Weatherford, Don Ray of Oklahoma, Kenny Ray of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Lois Powers of Butler, OK, and Mary Ray of Weatherford, OK; six grandchildren: Elizabeth, Cannon, Adelynn, Tyler, Ava and Hudsyn. Tim was an active member of the Church of Christ in Sand Springs, OK. His life could be characterized by love of God and family, and service to others. A memorial service has been planned for 11:00 am, Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, OK officiated by Pastor Pat Peterson.
