Funeral Services for Trecia Harper, 58, Cordell resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in the Church of Christ, Clinton, OK, officiated by Pat Peters and H.L. Shirey. Burial will conclude in the Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Trecia Lee (Moore) Harper was born in Dallas, Texas, June 17, 1958 and passed away Friday, May 5, 2017 in her Cordell home. Before moving to Cordell with her parents, Pat and Kyle Moore, she lived in De Queen, Arkansas. She graduated from Cordell High School and attended Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond. In 1978, Trecia married Jackie Harper and they made their home in Cordell before moving south of Cordell where she became an integral part of their farming operation. In addition, she became certified as an Emergency Medical Technician and served with the Cordell Ambulance Service, owned and operated Cordell Flower Boutique for several years, and taught at the Western Technology Center in the Culinary Arts Department. Trecia was an active member of the Clinton Custer Avenue Church of Christ. She often taught Sunday School and worked with Vacation Bible School and youth groups. She enjoyed singing and led a quartet which sang at events and recorded under the name of The Midnight Belles. Cordell Rotary Club, the Cordell Chamber of Commerce, and the Oklahoma Farm Bureau were among Trecia's interests. In 1998, she and Jackie were honored as the Washita Farm Family of the Year. She served as President of the Washita Women's Farm Bureau and became active in promoting agriculture. After the 2001 Cordell Tornado, she provided leadership with the Church of Christ relief effort to provide meals and supplies to families who had been affected, as well as crews who had come to the area to work. Trecia was preceded in death by her father, Kyle Moore. She is survived by her husband, Roy Jackson "Jackie" Harper, her mother, Pat Moore, daughter and son in law, Julie and Steve Gathers, son and daughter in law, Kyle and Bonnie Harper, and grandchildren, Taryn and Hunter Gathers. She is also survived by two sisters, Jennifer Lemons and Penny Leija, a brother, David Smothers, other family members and many friends.
