A Memorial Service for Udell S. Jones, 90, long time Clinton resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, November 7, 2013 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel officiated by Doyle Kinney and under the direction of the Kiesau Lee Funeral Home.] A private graveside service will be held prior to the memorial service at the Butler Cemetery, Butler, OK. Udell Stanley "Hoot" Jones was born November 10, 1922 to Orris Alanzo Jones and Flora Viola (McInturff) Jones in Butler, Oklahoma and passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013 in the Bellevue Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Oklahoma City, OK. "Hoot" was raised in Custer County and graduated from Arapaho High School in about 1940. He continued his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK. He moved to Kansas and worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. He returned to Oklahoma and married Oleta Reynolds. He worked for worked for Nelson Grain Elevator, Tom's Peanut and he spent over 22 years with U.S. Postal Service. He was later married to Gladys Lafever in 1988 in Clinton. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, he enjoyed Radio Controlled Model Air Planes, he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gladys, brother, Don "Push" Mershon and a sister, Rosa Jones. He was survived by a daughter, Diana Harden and husband, John, of Edmond, a granddaughter, Amy Rodriguez and husband, Michael, of Edmond and two great-granddaughters, Ashley Brown, of Edmond and Brandy Mauff and husband, Thorsten, of Germany.
