Val Easley

April 3, 2018 — April 5, 2018

Graveside services for Val Gene Easley, 86, of Butler, have been set for 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Butler Cemetery, with Doyle Kinney officiating, and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. The son of Arthur and Ora Mae Easley, Val was born at Mountain Park, Ok., April 2, 1932. He spent his younger years in Snyder and Mountain Park area. Then later the family settled on a farm West of Butler, Ok., now known as the Wildlife Refuge. Val attended school at Pie Flat until that school closed, then transferred to and graduated from Butler High School. After graduated Val helped his father on the farm, was Post Master at Butler, Ok., operated a filling station in Butler, and helped construct the Foss Lake. He retired as an enforcement officer for the State of Oklahoma - Motor Vehicle Size and weight division. Val enjoyed collecting antiques, toy farm tractors, and pedal tractors. He traveled to many tractor shows where he made numerous friends. Val was known for his big heart and friendly smile. He never met a stranger. It never failded that wherever he traveled he found someone he knew, or made new friends before he left. He loved to visit with people. Val loved old time country gospel music, listening to Charles Stanley on Sunday mornings, and RFDTV classic tractors. Val accepted Jesus into his heart at the age of 14, and has been a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Butler. He attended church at the First Christian Church in Clinton, while his very close friend Doyle Kinney was pastor. If there is any legacy to be left by Val, it would be to leave this scripture for his children, grand children and family members. I Thessalonians 4: 13-18 (New International Version) Val was preceded in death by his parents, step mother Irene (Haggard) Easley, and brother Gary Easley, a Son in law Ferrell Butcher.
