Funeral Service for Verdell Barker, Clinton resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday, February 21, 2022, in the True Gospel Tabernacle Church on Glenn Smith Road officiated by Pastor Edward Coleman, Elder Terry Jackson, Pastor Leonard Jackson. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Verdell Marie Barker was born April 29, 1934, to Mary Lee Ware in Gay Hill, TX and passed away Monday, February 14, 2022, in her Clinton home. Verdell married Elmer Barker in 1979 in Watonga, OK. She had a 25-year career with the Clinton Veterans Center retiring in 1995. She was a active and faithful member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church; she loved the outdoors and loved fishing, going to garage sales, doing yard work, crossword puzzles but most importantly working for the Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Evans Ware, husband Elmer Ray Barker, son, Norman Lister, Jr., daughter, Irene Baker Ramsey and great grandsons, Skyler Barker and Keuntaveous Barker, sisters, Corine Williams, Irene Chatman, and Vanilla Jackson, brothers Archie Jackson, Amos Johnson and James McKinney, son in law, Oscar Heras. She is survived by four sons, Mitchel Lister and Lonnie Lister, both of Clinton, Calvin Lister, Hot Springs, AR, Melton Lister, Enid, OK, daughters, Valerie Lister Lambert, of Arizona, Arzella Heras and Valerie Teal, both of Clinton, OK. She is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and a special niece-daughter, Mary Williams Wichita, KS.
