Viola Violet Koscheski

Funeral Services for Viola Koscheski, 92, Clinton resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 28, 2013 in the First Baptist Church officiated by Terrill Mitchell and burial will conclude in the Union Hatchett Cemetery in Bessie, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Viola Violet Koscheski was born May 12, 1921 to Chester and Emme (Danker) Grindstaff in Wellston, OK and passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013 in the Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton, OK. Viola was raised in Wellston and attended school there and later gradated from Classen High School. She was first employed at the Skirvan Hotel in Oklahoma City. She soon met Carl Koscheski and they were married on October 25, 1941 in Russell, Kansas. Mr. Koscheski was serving in the military during WW II and she worked as a civilian on the Air Bases where he was stationed. They moved to Clinton in 1945 and owned and operated Carl’s Sheet Metal. She worked with him until his passing away in 1977. In 1979 she moved to Chandler, Oklahoma where she worked for the Tax Assessors Office in the Lincoln County. She retired in 1997 and returned back to Clinton in 2003. She is a member of the First Baptist Church a fifty year plus member of the Eastern Star and was a past Worthy Matron; she was very active with the Brownies, Rainbows, Girl Scouts as well as the Boy Scouts. She was the fifth recipient of the Silver Fawn Award, which is the highest achievement award that can be received as a scout leader. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, two daughters, Charlotte Glauner, Mary Gray, a grandson, Michael Murray, two sisters, Helen Smith and Letty Kulschinski and a brother, Joe Grindstaff. She is survived by three sons, Caroll Koscheski and wife, Patrice, of North Carolina, John Koscheski and wife, Pam, Colorado Springs, CO and Jerry Koscheski and wife, Renee, of Clinton, OK. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Aaron Koscheski, Jared Koscheski, Brett Koscheski, Domonic Koscheski, Matthew Koscheski, Bethany Koscheski, Hanna Koscheski, Daniel Koscheski, and Andrew Koscheski, and three great-grandchildren.
