Virgil Charles Henry

A Graveside service for Charles Henry, 85, Clinton business man, will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 7, 2019 in the Hobart Rose Cemetery officiated by Doyle Kinney and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. The family will greet guests 2:00 P.M. till 4:00 P.M. Sunday, October 6, 2019 for a celebration of his life. It will be a time to tell stories and share with the family your memories. Virgil Charles Henry was born January 30, 1934 to Clifton and Lenny (Barham) Henry in Elk City, Oklahoma and passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019 in his Clinton home. He was raised in Elk City and graduated from Elk City High School in 1952. He started a career with Public Service Company in Hobart, OK and met Patricia Stevens and they were married on July 12, 1953. They owned and operated the White Swan Laundry which later became the Econo Wash. He operated automatic laundries in Hobart, Clinton, Frederick and Snyder. He moved his family to Levelland, Texas in 1959 and then in 1961 they moved to Snyder, Oklahoma, where he lived for the next 35 years. He was employed for 20 years for the USDA as a Statistician where travelled from 81 highway to the Texas line. He worked in Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico and had eight statisticians reporting to him. He retired from the Goodyear Tire Plant in Lawton in 1995. He moved to Clinton and operated the Mohawk Lodge Indian Store until the present. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Snyder, OK; he was often seen with his many friends at morning Coffee. He is preceded in death by two brothers, John and Joe Mike Henry. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Pat, of the home, two daughters, Stephannie Henry, Lewisville, TX, Stacey Henry, Houston, TX; two grandchildren, Callie Rivera and Crittenton Rivera and one great-grandson, Gabriel Higdon. He is also survived by several close friends including Jim Barton and Dick Sawatsky. The family wants to express their appreciation for the Faith Hospice family. They have been a tremendous blessing to Charles and our family. The family has suggested those wanting give a memorial contribution in lieu of flowers they may do so to the charity of their choice.
