Virginia Lee (Taylor) Bach Rosary services for Virginia Lee (Taylor) Bach will be held Friday, July 29, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton. Officiated by Father Christopher Tran, funeral services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Eugene's Catholic Church in Weatherford. Virginia Lee (Taylor) Bach, life-long resident of Custer City, born Feb. 6, 1920, in Custer City, OK to Mathew Rothel Taylor and Mabel (Howard) Taylor. She died Monday, July 25, 2016, at the age of 96 years old at Weatherford Regional Hospital surrounded by family. Growing up in Custer City on the family farm, she graduated from high school in 1937. After graduation, she went to business school at Draughon's Business College in Oklahoma City. She returned to Custer City to help on the family farm. She married Clarence Bach on Jan. 31, 1942, at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Anthon, northwest of Custer City. They moved to San Diego, CA, where both helped in the war efforts by building aircraft for Consolidated Aircraft. Virginia worked in the production of wing flaps for the B24 Liberator. "Rosie the Riveter" was the term describing Virginia and other women working in the factories during WWII. They returned to Custer City, OK, and established their home. She worked alongside her husband in farming and raising 5 children. It wasn't unusual seeing her drive the wheat truck, plowing, preparing and bringing meals to the fields. She enjoyed growing big gardens, raising chickens, canning, sewing, and cooking. She loved spending time with family and grandchildren, especially on holidays. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband of 33 years; a daughter, Mary (Bach) Mahan; a son, John Bach; brother, Marion Taylor; and two sisters, Viola June Hurd, and Lyda Butts. She is survived by daughter, Dorothy Clancy and her husband, T.K. of Elk City, OK; son, Frank Bach and his wife, Glenda of Custer City, OK; daughter, Barbara Daniel and her husband, Chuck of Weatherford, OK; 6 grandchildren - David Clancy, Debbie Mullin, Terry and Tammy Bach, Jackie and Bob Gauger, Tommy and Katie Daniel, and Heather McCornack; 9 great-grandchildren - Temple Kristopher Clancy, Jesse Clancy, Logan Gauger, Taylor Bach, Connor Bach, Melody McCornack, Matthew McCornack, Braxton Daniel, and Kody Daniel; 7 great-great grandchildren - Madison Clancy, Zach Clancy, Braxton Clancy, Allison Clancy, Carson Clancy, Addison Bach and Clay Bach.
