Funeral Services for Wanda M. Johnson, 95, Clinton resident will be held 1:30 P.M. Thursday, June 27, 2019 in the Clinton's First Baptist Church First Baptist Church, officiated by Doyle Kenney and Vann Leonard. Burial will follow in the Martha Cemetery in Martha, Oklahoma. Wanda Margaret Johnson was born July 23, 1923 to James W. Pigg and Lois (Starkey) Pigg in Gladstone, New Mexico and passed away early Sunday, June 23, 2019 in the Grace Living Center in Clinton, Oklahoma. Wanda was raised in Martha, Oklahoma where she also graduated. She continued her education at the Altus Jr. College in Altus, OK. She moved to Dallas, TX and worked as secretary in an Air Craft Factory during the War. She married Jimmie L. Johnson, Sr. in June of 1944. They made their home in Blair, OK where she owned and operated a beauty shop for over 20 years, she also worked in the Tag Agency and she worked for the Savage Hardware Store. She retired and moved to Clinton where her husband became a resident of the Clinton Veterans Center. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993 and also preceding her in death where her parents, two sister's Oleta Franklin and Mackey Pigg and two brothers, J.W. Pigg and Orville Pigg. She has been a longtime and faithful member of the Blair First Baptist Church, holding many positions as well as the Clinton First Baptist Church; she was a volunteer to for many organizations including meals on wheels, Veterans Center in Clinton, TRIAD, nursing homes, mentored students at Southwest School, helping kids with reading and all kinds of sports, her passion was volunteering at the Route 66 Museum and gave them them over 17,800 volunteer hours. She is survived by two sons, Jimmie L. Johnson, and wife, Darla, of Clinton, OK and Jerry L. Johnson and wife, Shirley, Hot Springs Village, AR and a sister Barbra Deiter, Memphis, TN. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. The family has suggested those wanting to give a memorial contributions may so to the First Baptist Church, 900 Frisco, Clinton, OK 73601 and Friends of Clinton Route 66 Museum Inc, 2229 Gary Blvd, Clinton, OK 73601.
