Wanda Stockton

A Memorial Service for Wanda Stockton, 66, former Clinton business women, will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 12, 2015 in the Victory Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Ben McDaniel and Rev. Buck Nicholson. A private burial will be held at a later date in the Center Point Cemetery in Leedey, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Wanda Vee (Stevens) Stockton was born March 1, 1949 to O.J. and Jennie Ruth (Young) Stevens in Clinton, OK and passed away early Monday, March 9, 2015 in the Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton, OK. Wanda was raised and graduated from high school in Custer City, OK. She worked for Peggy's Flowers in Custer City and in Clinton. She and Kenneth Stockton opened Wood and Things Store in 1973. She was a collector and sold antiques, reproduction furniture, floral designing and did home decorating all over the United States. She and Kenneth were married on February 18, 1978 in Clinton. They continued their business venture together for the next 42 years in two different locations and do to failing health she retired in 2011. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Tom Stevens. She was a Charter member of the Victory Baptist Church and was active in every aspect; she kept the church decorated, she taught class, active with Vacation Bible School, she was active with the youth and was available for anything else to support the Church. Her passion was spending time with her grandchildren. She was survived by her husband Kenneth Stockton of the home, two daughters, Jenny Hemingway and husband, Aaron, of Clinton, Kathy Delk and husband, Marshall, of Carnegie, OK; two sons, Travis Stockton and wife, Shelly and Tyler Stockton and wife, Jennifer, all of Clinton, a sister, Doris Ann Hestley, Bakersfield, CA and a brother, John Stevens, of Jones, OK. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Jack and Lily Hemingway, Noah and Halley Stockton and Kasey Delk. The family has suggested those wanting to give a memorial contribution may do so to the Victory Baptist Church, Clinton, OK.
