Graveside services for Wayne Bentley, 75, Clinton resident will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 18, 2020 in the Clinton Cemetery officiated by Rev. Ross Foster and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Wayne Lloyd Bentley was born March 4, 1945 to William Loyd Bentley and Alice Mae (White) Bentley in Rush Springs, OK and passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 in his Clinton home. Wayne was raised in Rush Springs, OK and graduated from Rush Springs High School in 1963. He continued his education at Cameron University in Lawton, OK. In 1965 and after his third semester of college he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He did a two year stint which included a tour in Viet Nam. He received numerous medals including the Purple Heart before his honorable discharged in August of 1967. He returned back to Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma State University. He married Carol Sue Curd on September 26, 1968 In Stillwater, Oklahoma and they and they continued to live in Stillwater until he graduated with a degree in Agriculture in 1971. He got a job with the Border Patrol in South Texas until moving to Salina, KS in 1973. He worked for several different agriculture organizations and transferred to Clinton, Oklahoma in 1993 where he continued to work in agriculture. He retired in 2010. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a past member of the Kiwanis Club; he loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and enjoyed working in his yard and had a passion for planting trees. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Carol, of the home, two brothers, Jim Bentley and wife, Ann, Hobart, OK and Glen Bentley, Rush Springs, OK. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, J.L. Bentley and wife, Allison, Gotebo, OK, Amber Ceniceros and husband, Jose, OKC, OK, Heather Cooper, Stillwater, OK and Kalera Weyrick and husband, Jake, Taloga, OK. The family has requested those wanting to give a memorial congregation my do so to the Oklahoma Medical Research for cancer research or The Oklahoma Alzheimer's Association.
