Graveside Services for William “Bill” Stepp, 86, Elk City resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday, January 4, 2021 in the Hammon Indian Mennonite Cemetery officiated by Rev. Delfred “Bunny” White Crow and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. William “Bill” Stepp was born September 19, 1934 to Chulio and Margaret (Humanstriker) Stepp in Stilwell, Oklahoma and passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 in the Great Plains Regional Hospital in Elk City, OK due to Covid-19 complications. Bill was raised in Oakridge, Oklahoma where he also attended school. He helped his parents on the family farm as well as helping the family build Railroad Ties to sell. He moved to Clinton, OK when he turned 18 and lived with a sister and brother in law. He did farm labor and worked as a roofer for Milligan Roofing. He married Leona Standingwater in 1965 in Hammon, OK. He was then employed with the Counts Mobil Station in Elk City for 22 years as well as doing farm labor. He also worked by helping take care of grey hound dogs and was the caretaker of the Redhills Cemetery in Hammon. He was a member of the Oakridge Baptist Church and a member of the Cherokee Tribes of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, granddaughter, Amber Lynn Candy, grandson, Corey Youngblood; three sisters, Peggy Marrs, Fanny Glass and Margaret Milligan and brother, Walter Step. He is survived by two daughters, Deanna Davis, and Tammi Candy and husband, Rickey; son, B.J. Stepp and wife, Lisa, all of Elk City. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Brandon Standingwater, Codey Yong Bull, Amber Young Bull, Ricki Candy, Samantha Candy, Cheryl Candy, Vanessa Candy, Baleigh, Standingwater Nykesha Nez and Aaliya Jim and ten great-grandchildren.
