Witcher Cy "W.C." Howenstine

Chapel Services for W.C. Howenstine, 86, Arapaho resident will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Wendell Folsom. Burial will conclude in the Arapaho Cemetery in Arapaho, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Witcher Cy Howenstine "W.C." was born June 17, 1930 to Cora Helen (McDonald) and Cy Howenstine, Jr. in Arapaho, OK and passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 in the Deaconess Hospital in OKC, OK. "W.C." was raised in Arapaho and attended Oklahoma Military Academy in Claremore, Oklahoma graduating 1948. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. He was soon married Marilyn Orgain on June 17, 1950 in Clinton. He later finished his education at Southwestern State College in Weatherford, OK. He began a career in the Insurance Business whilein Stillwater and became a director of Agencies for Sooner Life, he also was owner and operator of the Sequoyah Life Insurance. He moved back to Arapaho in 1972 where he was in business with his wife. He operated the Insurance Agency and she operated the Tag Agency. Mrs. Howenstine preceded him in death in 2009. He was a member of the Arapaho Methodist Church and Oklahoma Farmer Bureau. He enjoyed doing woodwork, building and doing finish work and he enjoyed doing Lapidary work which is cutting and polishing rocks. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and an infant child. He was survived by daughter, Cindy Baird and husband, Butch, Woodward, OK, Heather Howenstine, Dallas, TX, Maralee Wasana, Weatherford, OK; two sons, Cy Howenstine, IV and wife, Janice, Cheyenne, OK and Sean Howenstine and wife, J.J., Arapaho, OK; a sister Florence Helen Hellwege, Kingfisher, OK. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, April Miller and husband, Tim, Clinton, Shawnita Stanfield and husband, Lane, Cordell, OK, Cameron Howenstine, Arapaho, OK, Breanna Wasana, Weatherford, OK, Drew Wasana, Weatherford, OK, Destinee Wasana, Weatherford, OK, Katleynn Howenstine, Arapaho, OK, Hannah Howenstine, Arapaho, OK, Janan Howenstine, Arapaho, OK and Zoey Howensitne, Arapaho, OK and three great-grandchildren, James Miller, Clinton and Aerionna Stanfield and Hadlee Stanfield, both of Cordell, OK.
