A Chapel Service for Zelma Morris, 91, Custer County resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, April 30, 2015 in the Kiesau Chapel, officiated by Sandy Shepherd. Burial will conclude in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Zelma Elizabeth (Thompson) Morris was born July 21, 1923 to Arthur and Ollie (Hale) Thompson in Eagle City, OK a passed away early Monday, April 27, 2015 in the Grace Living Center in Clinton, Oklahoma. She was raised in Butler and the West Barnitz Creek area. She graduated from Arapaho High School in 1941. She was married to Harold Morris on October 27, 1942 in Eagle City. While her husband was in the military and overseas she worked for the McDonnell Douglas Airplane plaint in Long Beach, California. They made their home back in Arapaho, OK where they farmed. She attended Licensed Practical Nursing School in Burns Flat and received her certificate and worked at two nursing facilities as well as the Oklahoma Veterans Center retiring in 1988. She was baptized and became a member of the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church at the age of 14, and served as a Sunday school teacher for several years. She was a member of the Home Extension Clubs and was 4H Leader. She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant son Westley Dean Morris and son, Jerry Morris, eight brothers and sisters, a daughter in law, Nan Morris and a son in Law, Terry Hunter. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Hunter, of Clinton, two sons, Stan Morris, of Foss, OK and Larry Morris, of Arapaho; two sisters, Zerita Kiesau, Clinton and Nancy Burkholder and husband, Larry, of Noel, MO; and a brother, Hal Thompson and wife Frieda, of Edinburg, TX 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
